Home Based Business Review Scams
How many times have you read an article that professes to be a review on the home business opportunity that you are considering, only to find it's an advertisement for another opportunity? Truth be told, most authors have their own home business or cash cow that they would like you to be a part of, just to be clear, I am no different.
You will find reviews on Passport To Wealth, EDC Gold, Perfect Wealth Formula, Liberty League International and just about any other business or MLM that you are investigating. Problem is, they are all biased. Much of what you read on the internet is an opinion from someone who is looking to offer you something else. Yes, I am an internet entrepreneur, and I too would be biased if I wrote an article on another business. So, reviews written by anybody who has a vested interest in you not joining another company are not to be trusted. Their motives for writing the reviews are not for your benefit, but the authors. I am not telling you that the authors are lying, they may have been involved in the company they are reviewing and failed. But, odds are, they will fail at what ever they are currently involved in.
Now, this is specific to reviews, not how to articles or articles providing information on how to find the right opportunity, or to create success in some industry. Although they may be slightly biased being as the authors are involved in some opportunity, they can provide some very useful information.
The bottom line is my or anyone else's success or failure is of no indication on weather you will be a success or failure at a particular business. I may work my butt off and make nothing and you may make a six figure income right out of the gate. You will create your own success, neither I nor anyone else cannot do it for you. The only question is what vehicle you will use to get there. Due your own due diligence and find the right opportunity, but take EVERY review you read with a grain of salt.
This does not mean you cannot look for reviews on the internet, just realize that if you want to finding something bad about whatever business you are investigating, you Will Find It. Look for positive feedback and you Will Find It. So be very skeptical about what you read and try and separate the truth from fiction or the advertisement from credible information. Email the author reviewing the business and ask some specific questions about their review. Try and find multiple reviews from multiple authors and look for a common theme, then investigate that theme.
When looking for a home based business, you will never be able to dispel all of your fears or all of your risk. There is some risk involved in any business, you just need to minimize that risk as much as possible before going forward.
Be honest with yourself, be skeptical and when you feel comfortable go for it. Just remember the old adage, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
